In looking at this photo, you can almost hear and feel the crash and spray of these majestic, pristine waterfalls clustered together in southern Idaho, at Thousand Springs State Park, tucked away in the Hagerman Valley, otherwise affectionately known as the Magic Valley. The springs here are fed via the Eastern Snake Plain Aquifer, one of the largest aquifers in the United States, about the size of Lake Erie of the Great Lakes. The groundwater in the aquifer here travels from its source at just about 1 to 10 feet per day, or up to 3 metres, and can take around 150 to 250 years to flow into Thousand Springs and the Snake River.
